Life can be difficult at times. That’s when care and kindness from the community can make such a big difference.
The Hudson Foundation exists to help construction families in need, providing support in the event of serious illness, injury and bereavement.
Recent examples include supporting the family of a 21-year-old scaffolder who took his own life, the parents of a five-year-old battling a brain tumour, and the three children of a 49-year-old plumber diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Stuart Sanderson, director at Hudson Contract, said: “The foundation was established by our late founder and former chairman, David Jackson, as a way of giving back to the construction industry. It’s something we’re incredibly proud of, and we want people to know that help is available when they need it most.
“While we can’t help everyone, or those on short-term sick leave, our aim is to provide financial support to the families hardest hit when a Hudson operative is seriously injured or loses their life. We’ve supported families through serious illness, life-changing workplace accidents and bereavement. If you or someone you know is going through an especially difficult time, please get in touch.”
The Hudson Foundation also brings together efforts to create opportunities for young people to learn trade skills, develop self-confidence and get a good start in life, while providing a voice for self-employment in construction.
