17th June 2021 | Hudson Contract
It is Men’s Health Week and this year’s theme is mental health – and if you are struggling, it’s okay to talk about it.
Hudson Contract is proud to promote wellbeing and is a longstanding supporter of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, helping to raise awareness of the help and support available to tradespeople and their families suffering from mental health or financial problems.
Men’s Health Week, run by Men’s Health Forum, is encouraging as many people as possible to take part in the Can Do Challenge and complete five activities that are scientifically-proven to help us feel better. These are:
• Connect - call an old friend
• Active - go for a walk or run
• Notice - turn off your phone for an hour
• Discover - read a book and learn something new
• Offer - do something for someone else
You can do these by yourself or with friends and colleagues and don’t forget to share the best examples on social media using the hashtag #MensHealthWeek.
Jane Hewson, Hudson Contract Business Development and Mental Health First Aider, said: "Hudson Contract is committed to working for long-term change around the attitude towards mental health issues within construction. We are lending the weight of our vast reach to join those already promoting awareness and striving to make a difference in our industry.
"Watch this space for news of how Hudson is helping tradespeople cope with stress in a series of new workshops."
