Free coping with stress webinar for subbies

5th August 2021 | Hudson Contract

Hudson partners with the Lighthouse Club to promote proven tools for wellbeing.

Stress affects all of us in different ways but overall can impact our quality of life. Tell-tale signs include sleeping difficulties, drinking too much, being angry, feeling depressed or having low energy. Fortunately, there are some very good ways to manage stress and reduce any negative health effects.

We are partnering with the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity to promote better mental wellbeing in the sector and to ensure people can easily access any support they might need to cope with harmful stress. Hudson believes this is a very important cause and is delighted to be continuing our work with this excellent charity.

We are using our extensive industry network to advertise a free Lighthouse Club webinar for subbies on the subject of stress, led by a qualified trainer and taking place online with anonymity for participants. It is CPD-accredited too, so will contribute to personal career and professional development.

The webinar will help people to recognise the signs of pressure and stress, understand what is normal and what is not, identify causes, learn coping mechanisms and build resilience. Ian Anfield, managing director of Hudson Contract, said: “We all lead busy lives and can experience unhelpful stress from time to time. It is important to know there is help available and we are proud to be promoting the excellent support services provided by the Lighthouse Club.”

Last year, the Lighthouse Club reported a 57 per cent increase in the number of cases presented to its safety net helpline with the vast majority requesting help with a variety of wellbeing issues. To contact the Construction Industry Helpline, please call 0345 605 1956.

More than 18,400 subbies paid by Hudson can see an advert for the webinar on the back of their payslips. The advert will be visible to a further 55,000 subbies that are registered on the company's online subcontractor portal. The webinar takes place on 26 August at 6.30pm and is open to all, free of charge. Please do share details with your contacts.
