Lee Monk

Lee Monk is our regional account manager for East Anglia, East Midlands and North London. He serves construction clients ranging from one-man bands to large contractors with hundreds of operatives, working on major residential developments in city centres and brownfield sites, and large-scale infrastructure programmes across the region. Lee has three decades of experience in the construction industry and joined us in 2023. 
He says the three big issues facing construction firms are employment status and the risk of reclassification by HMRC, supply chain due diligence to ensure full compliance with tax and employment law, and off-payroll working rules known as IR35.

A recent success involved a large utilities contractor based in East Anglia with a 15-strong accounts department who were experts in all other areas of tax and accounting but were not entirely sure how to prepare CIS reports correctly. Lee delivered expert training sessions to bring the team up to speed on how to ensure compliance, identifying mistakes that had been putting the company at risk and giving everyone consistent, confident processes to follow going forward.

Lee started his working life as a carpenter with his father before training as an electrician. Rising through the ranks, Lee was involved with project management and business development on M&E projects before joining Hudson three years ago.

Lee is based in Hertfordshire and outside work, he enjoys golf, gym sessions, and spending time with his wife and two daughters, both keen dancers and athletes.
