Hudson Contract in the Community: Good Causes in 2013
10th December 2013 | Hudson Contract
Hudson Contract has once again been proud to support a variety of local organisations and charities this year. Here’s a quick round-up of some of them:
Apprenticeships
Our apprenticeships scheme continues, and we have now supported over 50 employers and their apprentices in North and East Yorkshire.
Whilst there has been some extra local funding from the start of this college year, not all apprentices fit the criteria – which meant we have been able to help several youngsters who would otherwise have been denied the opportunity to enter the construction industry.
Bridlington Rugby Club
We continue as a main sponsor of the Club, supporting it financially and donating marketing and design services. In May, Hudson Contract had the added pleasure of helping to create the trip of a lifetime for rugby players of all ages, when Bridlington reached the RFU Intermediate Cup Final at Twickenham. Even though the Club didn’t win the trophy, it was a great day out for all.
We are currently working with the club to re-establish the youth section through the sponsorship of a youth development officer who will liaise with local schools to increase participation in the sport.
Other good causes
Two members of our team took on physical challenges this year.
Contracts Director Ian Anfield raised money for The Anthony Nolan Trust by cycling 220 miles on the Coast & Castle route between Newcastle and Edinburgh, while Head of Marketing Fiona Gamwell ran 26.2 miles at the Inaugural Yorkshire Marathon, raising funds the RNLI.
Hudson Contract also continued to support the Fatherhood Institute, and the Bridlington based ReMarkable Theatre Company.
