Hudson Contract Apprentice Sponsorship Scheme Expands
16th September 2013 | Hudson Contract
Hudson Contract’s Apprenticeship Scheme has been expanded for 2013, with twenty additional places created for the coming academic year for students on courses at Yorkshire Coast College in Scarborough and East Riding College in Bridlington.
Now in its third year, the scheme has so far helped thirty-eight apprentices to get their first foot on the construction careers ladder, and many success stories are beginning to emerge.
For example, Nigel Harbron of Trust Plumbing in Scarborough, took on Kirsty Price as his apprentice last September, and the 12-month sponsorship has now run its course.
Nigel Harbron comments: “Kirsty has become a valuable asset to our business, and that is down to her own hard work, and the support we received from Hudson Contract. There are so many young people out there who need a break, and it feels good to be part of their success. We’re now looking confidently forward to the time when Kirsty is able to go out on jobs unaccompanied, in her own van.”
“It’s great to hear the scheme is making a genuine impact on apprentices and their employers. And because Hudson Contract is continuing to grow, we can do even more for 2013″ Hudson Contract’s Commercial Director Lesley Jackson adds. “As the industry emerges from the downturn, we hope even more opportunities will be made available for the construction apprentices.”
