Tough times but light is at the end of the tunnel

These are tough, testing times for everybody but remember nothing lasts forever and soon enough some semblance of normality will return to our industry. That might be weeks or months, who knows, but rest assured Hudson Contract will be here throughout and ready to help when you need it.

Building firms are expert at managing health and safety. Our industry excels at minimising risk on building sites. Compliance is what we do. The health and wellbeing of people is at the heart of every successful business in the sector. Without people, we can’t build the housing and infrastructure that Britain needs.

The sun is out and sites are slowly starting to reopen. Under the headline, ‘Soft Return Gathering Momentum’, The Construction Index noted that most of the major contractors appear to be back at work on many of their sites, observing the Government’s call to keep the economy moving while following public health guidelines set out in the Construction Leadership Council’s site operating procedures.

This means more jobs are coming in for subcontractors. The money will start to flow through the supply chain again, putting cash back into bank accounts and helping households up and down the land struggling to make ends meet.

Don’t forget the fundamentals: Britain needs more homes and new roads, railways and other vital infrastructure. Pre-crisis, the pipeline was £600bn strong and includes 700 projects. Sooner or later, these will have to be built.
